Environment Awards

This Accreditation Scheme has been designed and created by the RSA's Forum for Environmental & Sustainable Development Awards (Awards Forum).

The Awards Forum researched, developed and produced www.EnvironmentAwards.net - an online database of over 400 environmental and sustainable development awards.

EnvironmentAwards.net is a powerful resource providing a searchable on-line database of over 400 environmental awards. Awards have long been recognised as a means by which we can bring to light examples of innovation and celebrate the achievements of these pioneers. They act as a mechanism to encourage others to strive towards best practice and help to drive forward the sustainability agenda.

The Awards Forum is advised by a Steering Group chaired by Gareth Jones FRSA and drawn from a wide cross section of interested parties. It is an RSA (Royal Society for the Encouragement of Arts Manufactures and Commerce) initiative developed with support from the DETR, Pfizer, Biffa Waste Services, KPMG and Biffaward.

The RSA was founded in 1754. It is an independent charity that exists to encourage the development of a principled and prosperous society. With the support of over 22,000 Fellows, we run a programme of work based around our manifesto which consists of five key challenges:

• Encouraging Enterprise
• Moving Towards a Zero Waste Society
• Fostering Resilient Communities
• Developing a Capable Population
• Advancing Global Citizenship

For more information on the work of the RSA visit www.theRSA.org

The Forum is delighted to announce that as of 1st April 2005 the day to day management of the awards database was transferred to Faversham House Group Ltd (FHG) and has been incorporated within their sustainability web site www.edie.net.
